I’m so excited to finally share Ivy’s nursery with you all! Here are a few ideas for a vintage inspired baby girl nursery. I hope this gives you some fun, and feminine inspiration!

Ideas for a vintage inspired baby girl nursery
I loved the way this little wall space came together.

One thing I knew when I found out we were having our first girl, was that I for sure wanted a sweet, vintage, and feminine style nursery for her. I have saved countless pins on Pinterest over the months, dreaming up her beautiful little space. Therefore, I’m so thrilled to share some simple ideas for a vintage inspired baby girl nursery.

The Inspiration I Was Going For

The simplest details make all the difference.

In addition, there were so many styles/colors I was dremaing of for Ivy’s nursery. One main theme I kept thinking of, was Anne of Green Gables. I wanted to incorporate colors/textures that made me think of that era. Striving for all things vintage, lace, ivory, sage green, mauve pink, pale yellow, etc… I somehow pulled together exactly what I was wanting, if not more.

One of my favorite views of her room.

There are so many elements that I love about her little room. I love the tiny details all over her crib, the mostly thirfted art pieces I found on Etsy, and the simple yet elegant way the light shines off the freshly painted Alabaster white walls.

I love this lovely thrifted quilt, my friend gifted Ivy.

Where to Find the Perfect Decor | Ideas for a Vintage Inspired Baby Girl Nursery

I love a good antique/thrift store, I shop there very regularly when I’m on the hunt for something. Those are the first places I looked when choosing decor for Ivy’s nursery.

I wanted her room to have that “vintage feel,” the one where you know something has been used/worn decades ago. The character that comes with used/old treasures is what I crave when decorating a new space.

Bringing in old baskets, antique books, pitchers with dried florals/greenery, can easily make any little room have a “vintage feel” to it.

Mostly, all of her nursery was thrifted, and I love that. I harldy spent more than $100 on her lovely, little room. Bringing in old baskets, antique books, pitchers with dried florals/greenery, can easily make any little room have a “vintage feel” to it.

Baskets, baskets, and more baskets.

All of the furniture in her room, was also thrifted or repurposed from our home. Which is where I found this sturdy wooden shelf, off of Facebook Marketplace for $20. It makes my naturally frugal heart happy, knowing I didn’t have to spend a fortune to get the look I dreamed of.

vinatge mary janes
The sweetest thrifted, vintage Mary Janes.

Originally it was a hideous blue, which I quickly painted a warm taupe color to frehsen it up. I love the way it turned out! This was the exact vision I had for this shelf, I knew I wanted it to hold baskets of all the necessary needs for her. Especially, since we weren’t going to be utilizing a dresser in this room.

diaper basket
I love Pampers Pure diapers! They are my go to with newborns!

Keeping it Simple for a Vintage Inspired Nursery

There are so many images on Pinterest of beautiful baby girl nurseries. The unfortunate thing, is that they are very cluttered/overfilled, making it hard to look at.

I repurposed a thrifted flat sheet, and cut it into two curtain panels for her room. The curtain rod is from Target, this is the one I bought.

I personally have a natural tendency to keep things minimal in our home, and that was another thing I wanted when it came to her nursery decor.

Adding a few vinatge needlepoints around her room, gave me that simple yet vintage look I was going for. The few I have on her walls were either thrifted or I ordered from Etsy.

Baby girls have so many cute accessories, and I wanted to showcase those things throughout her room.

In other words, with this being our first baby girl, I’m having so much fun purchasing all the bows and bonnets for her. And I love displaying all her little things!

bow holders

One amazing thing you can find at pretty much any thirft/antique store, is peg racks or shelves with pegs. These are a must have for me in our home. Furthermore, they are so functional yet so beautiful and vintage.

Of course I had to display all her lovely little bows, and I love this little peg rack I thirfted. It honestly is the perfect little set of hooks for bows!

Last Few Ideas for a Vintage Inspired Baby Girl Nursery

Using vintage linens, vintage baby clothes, baby shoes, wooden hangers (the one above I found here), etc… can really bring in that “vintage feel” all the more.

Literally, it costs hardly anything to decorate with those few items, which can easily be found anywhere.

I love this vintage, green sweater that was gifted to me by my Grandparents, which was one of theirs as a baby.
