Super Simple Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Protein Ball Recipe

What I love about Super Simple Protein Balls

Surprisingly, protein ball recipes can be altered or changed to whatever you prefer. We typically stick with this recipe for the most part, however you can substitute the chocolate chips for just about anything you want: dried fruit, M&M’s, nuts, etc… the list goes on. You could even do different nut butters instead of peanut butter to change it up. I love the easyness that these bring to our daily life, they are super quick to whip up and everyone in our family loves them! Therefore, today I am going to be sharing with you our favorite super simple protein balls recipe. I know you’ll love it, even my toddler loves them!

What You Will Need

  • 3 cups quick oats
  • 1 cup crunchy or creamy peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • stand mixer or electric beater
  • food storage container
  • measuring cups and spoons

How to Make the Protein Balls

Combine all ingredients into a large bowl and mix well, making sure all the oats have been incorporated. Then with a large spoon, scoop out dough and form into balls. I’ve learned these are best for eating after they have been refrigerated, allowing them to harden for a bit.

These are the perfect snack for on the go or even those midnight cravings. These super simple protein balls will certainly become a family favorite. Even more so, to where you double the batch like I do now!

A couple ways we love to use these are: snacks for throwing in the diaper bag, quick easy breakfasts, post workout snacks, healthy snack alternatives, etc… Always having a batch of these made up in a container, in our fridge has been a game changer. Especially, if we get home from running errands and everyone is feeling a bit hangry, we can pass these around until dinner is made. I also love that they are sweetened with honey instead of sugar. Thankfully, this gives me more peace of mind knowing my toddler won’t be bouncing off the walls later, LOL.

Well I hope this super simple protein balls recipe found you well, and that you and your family enjoy making these. Be sure to check out my previous blog post here, and be sure to join my email list to stay up to date on all my latest content!

Yummy! This is almost the exact recipe we make in our home but I also put flax seeds in ours. We call them “boobie bites” because the oats and flax are super galactagogues for those breastfeeding mamas!
