Today I’m sharing with you my favorite recipe for making the best sandwich bread that your family will love!

Here’s the best, easy how to make sandwich bread recipe I have been baking for over three years now. It is one I always revert back to because it’s so simple and easy to make!
Lately, I love to start one to two loaves in the morning to get it out of the way, letting it rise so I can pop it in the oven by lunchtime. Usually I will have a loaf ready for dinner or ready for the next day for sandwiches or a quick snack for the kids. There is nothing better than fresh warm bread straight from the oven with softened butter slathered on it. My family loves this bread! I hope yours will too!

What You’ll Need to Get Started
- Stand Mixer (I use a Kitchen Aid)
- Dough Hook
- Measuring Cups and Spoons
- Dry Active Yeast (I use Fleischmanns)
- Water
- All-Purpose Flour
- Oil
- Salt
Most of these items and ingredients are probably already in your pantry and cupboards. Which makes this recipe even easier to make and to put into rotation with all your recipes.
Easy How to Make Sandwich Bread

Ingredients
- 1 cup warm water
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 2 1/4 tsp. dry active yeast
- 3 cups all purpose flour
- 3/4 tsp. sea salt
- 2 tbsp. oil (olive oil works well)
- 2 tbsp. salted butter
Instructions
- In a small bowl, stir together water, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 10 minutes until the yeast feeds on the sugar and starts to form a thick bubbly layer. The thicker the layer the better your bread will rise. If it doesn't get bubbly wait a bit longer or try with warmer water.
- In the bowl of a stand mixer with dough hook attached, add flour, salt, oil, and yeast mixture. With the mixer on medium speed allow to knead dough until it no longer sticks to the bowl. If it sticks to the bowl add tiny bits of flour until soft and fluffy dough emerges. You don't want a dense dough, or it won't rise well.
- Roll dough into a tight ball and transfer to a greased bowl. Cover with a towel and place in the warmest spot in your home. Warmth is key to a good rise. Let rise for 60-90min depending on how well its rising. Sometimes it just needs more time.
- Once dough has risen, punch down dough and shape to fit in a loaf pan. Cover and let rise again for 50-60min.
- Bake at 350º for 25-30min. Brush with salted butter. Enjoy!
A Few Tips for Easy How to Make Sandwich Bread
Since making this sandwich bread recipe for over three years now, I’ve definitely learned the things that help make this bread light and fluffy with a good rise.
Warmth is by far the biggest thing you will need to make or break this sandwich bread. Warm water for your yeast and warm environment for your bread to rise in. If you have a fireplace set in on the hearth, if you have a laundry room set it on your dryer. Warmth is key my friend, it will never fail you if you remember that. Also, the less flour the better. Stick to the three cups and no less. You want a light fluffy dough, you don’t want a dense dough or it will take forever to rise and honestly won’t turn out great. Tell me how I know that…LOL Another tip I learned, room temperature flour is a must. You don’t want your flour cold. Remember how I said “warmth is key” well this is another factor that will aid to your benefit. I hope these tips help!
