Our oldest son Noble, recently turned two years old, and we celebrated at home with a vintage Clifford The Big Red Dog birthday theme. I’m so excited to show you how it turned out!
Vintage Clifford the Big Red Dog Theme
Since having children of my own, I have loved coming up with unique birthday themes for my boys. I love to create and make things differently than the average mom. Therefore, after Noble developed a love for the 90’s, Clifford cartoon from my childhood, I had to go with a vintage Clifford the Big Red Dog birthday.
I searched several places to find everything I had in mind, Etsy, Poshmark, Mercari, Amazon, etc… And I will leave links to what I can down below. However, I did find several original, vintage Clifford books from Poshmark, and I was able to find some on Amazon here.
The Clifford Naked Cake
Naked cakes, are my strong suit when it comes to baking birthday cakes. They are so simple, yet so pretty! I decided to go with a chocolate cake mix, which I baked in a six inch round wilton cake pan. Then I frosted it with a homemade buttercream frosting. It turned out so delicous! To complete the look for the vintage Clifford birthday theme, I went with a number two candle from Oak & Moss, and a vintage Clifford figurine I found on Etsy.
Clifford Apparel
When planning Noble’s birthday, I knew I wanted him to wear a Clifford themed shirt of some kind, but was worried I wouldn’t find anything in the vintage original Clifford style. However, The Out of Print Label had exactly what I was wanting, in toddler sizes too! This adorable vintage Clifford t-shirt looked so cute on Noble!
