If you’re needing some simple, budget friendly Christmas gift ideas for toddler boys, this post has a few practical options for you. I have compiled a list of open ended toys any toddler would love. They won’t break the bank as well as save you on extra clutter.
Keeping Christmas Simple with Toddlers
If you’re like me and don’t want to spend a ton of money on toys this year, this post is here to give you simple, budget friendly Christmas gift ideas. I also have a blog post talking more about a minimalist Christmas, you can check out here.
One thing I’ve learned after having two toddler boys close in age, is that you have to have two of everything in order to keep the fighting at bay. Which the unfortunate part of that, is you now have double of everything.
However, I have decided to still go with double when purchasing their gifts. I do still want to keep our Christmas simple and minimal when buying toys for our kids. We have pretty generous family members, and most of the time end up with way too many toys by the New Year.
What I Chose to Gift our Boys for Christmas
My main goal when purchasing Christmas gifts this year, was to keep it simple and minimal, yet open ended for our boys.
Here is what I purchased:
- Magna Tiles (open ended, imaginative play) Price: $49.99
Every time we attend a play date at a friends house, my boys would always sit and play with their Magna Tiles. My friends seemed to always rave about how wonderful they are, and how they always keep their kids entertained. And I’m the type of mom who keeps a tab in my brain, of toys my kids always play with at other people’s houses. This gives me ideas to go off of and remember come birthdays or Christmas.
- Play Tool Sets for each boy (can help daddy do projects) Price: $23.97
My boys always want to help their daddy when he does projects around the house. One of them is always running off with one of his tools and getting into trouble. So I think its quite appropriate they each have their own set of tools that they can help daddy with.
- Two Play Dyson Vacuums (can help mommy pretend clean) Price: $24.99
This was another toy my boys always play with at other peoples houses. They also love to help mommy vacuume around the house, so I decided they each needed their own.
Our Budget for Christmas Gifts
This year I set a pretty strict budget of $75 for each boy for Christmas, that’s $150 total. With two little boys under the age of three, I can easily get away with a simple and minimal Christmas. My husband and I also want to instil in our children that Christmas isn’t about just getting presents, but about the True Meaning. So I hope this post gave you some great ideas and inspiration when purchasing gifts for your littles this year. I will also attach a pinnable Christmas gift guide for you, with a few more great gift ideas.
